Meet the children

From Kindergarten to Senior High School, we will accompany these children on their journey. Our first action was to reach out to the children directly impacted by the Lombok earthquake, so they are the first ones to be sponsored.

Here is a little introduction of each child that Aquila Aurea supports, thanks to your generous donation:

Lilis Suriani

Lilis Suriani is a 5 year old orphan girl living in Lombok. Her father passed away several years ago. Her mother sadly was killed during the Lombok earthquake in 2018, while she was trying to rescue her daughter. After these tragic events, Lili’s aunt and uncle took her into their family. Unfortunately, Lilis’ uncle had a severe health condition and passed away in February 2021, leaving Lilis’ aunt the sole provider for her family and Lilis.

Yunita Rumaysho Putri

Yunita Rumaysho Putri is 9 years old and lives with her mother and younger sister, Ayesha, in a small village in the north of Lombok. Her father was killed during the earthquake that struck the island in 2018. Her mother, Ibu Yuni, works as a Kindergarten teacher in their small village to support her two daughters. Putri goes to the local school and attends classes at the nearby mosque, where she is studying the Quran.

Ayesha Muttaqin

Ayesha is 6 years old, and she lives with her older sister Putri and her mother, Ibu Yuni, in a remote village in North Lombok. She will finish Kindergarten in June 2021 and then start Elementary School. Ayesha’s father was one of the victims of the tragic 2018 earthquake. Ayesha and her sister now support their family by selling small food packets prepared by their mother, to the local neighbors.

Aodi Sintiya

Aodi Sintiya is 12 years old and lives with her mother in Lombok. Her father abandoned them, without explanation several years ago. Soon thereafter, her mother suffered a debilitating stroke, and was left partially paralysed. Aodi is now responsible for the care of her mother. Every morning, before she goes to school, she bathes her mother and cooks the meals for the day. After school, she returns home to continue caring for her mother. Aodi is an avid learner and excels at school. In 2020, she was awarded first place in a Social Study competition. Recommended to our Foundation by her teacher, Aodi is very happy to be able to continue her studies with our sponsorship funding.
